?"Casting for Recovery put the joy back into my life. I didn’t take the time to grieve in 2005, the part I was missing to heal. [At the retreat] I received so much help and understanding and joy. When I got home, [I was] all smiles as I went to pick up my MRI of my brain and wore my hat. They asked me how it was. Tears came to my eyes. The best thing I ever did, I said.”
These are words from a 2012 Retreat Participant. If you know a woman who has or has had breast cancer and lives in Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, or Washington, DC, and may need the joy back in here life or to connect with those who have had like experiences, CFR is taking applications for the Maryland Retreat thru August 3rd. Losing mom to breast cancer has been the most terrible experience of my life. Mom fought hard for 10 years but we lost her shortly after her 61st birthday on December 27, 1997. I was with Mom, and letting her go be with Dad even at the end, was the hardest thing I have ever done. Me, with the medical background was in total denial until the very end. I run each year and raise money so this pain will end for future generations. Please support Team Audrey and visit my page. "To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die."
If you have wanted to learn more about Casting for Recovery and the retreats offered at no cost to women in any stage of breast cancer, now is the perfect opportunity.
Past participants will be in attendance and speaking to the group will be Dr. Regina Hampton, MD, FACS of Signature Breast Care.
Dr. Hampton is a Board Certified General Surgeon with a special interest and established expertise in benign and malignant breast disease. She is certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
